1. What we collect
Account information: Name, email address, and hashed password when you create an account.
Billing information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We store only the Stripe customer ID and subscription status — no raw card data ever touches our servers.
Video and transcript data: URLs and uploaded files you submit for processing; transcripts generated from those files; suggested clips, quality scores, and reasoning. This data is stored to deliver the Service and deleted 90 days after the project is deleted.
Usage data: Which features you use, credit consumption, and error logs. Used to improve the Service.
Analytics: We use PostHog for product analytics. Events are anonymized and do not include video content or transcripts.
2. How we use your data
To provide and improve the Service; to send transactional emails (billing receipts, job notifications); to respond to support requests. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your video content to train AI models unless you explicitly opt in.
3. Data sharing
We share data with:
- Stripe — payment processing
- OpenAI — transcript scoring (your transcript content is sent to OpenAI's API; OpenAI's API data usage policy applies)
- ElevenLabs — voiceover generation when you use the voiceover tool
- Cloudflare R2 — file storage
- Resend — transactional email delivery
We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Cookies
We use a session cookie for authentication and a PostHog analytics cookie. No third-party advertising cookies are set.
5. Data retention
Account data is retained until you delete your account. Video and transcript data is retained for 90 days after the parent project is deleted, then purged. You can request immediate deletion by emailing privacy@clipmasterapp.com.
6. Security
Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our storage provider. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We do not log plaintext credentials.
7. Your rights
You can export your data, delete your account, or request correction of inaccurate data at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. If you are in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability.
