1. What we collect
Account information: Name, email address, and hashed password when you create an account.
Billing information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We store only the Stripe customer ID and subscription status — no raw card data ever touches our servers.
Video, audio, image, and transcript data: URLs and uploaded files you submit for processing; transcripts generated from those files; suggested clips, quality scores, captions, voiceovers, prompts, edit instructions, and reasoning. This data is stored to deliver the Service and deleted 90 days after the project is deleted.
Usage data: Which features you use, credit consumption, and error logs. Used to improve the Service.
Analytics: We use PostHog for product analytics and may use Google Analytics for website measurement. Events are anonymized and do not include video content or transcripts.
2. How we use your data
To provide and improve the Service; process uploads, imports, transcripts, captions, voiceovers, renders, exports, and AI-assisted recommendations; send transactional emails such as billing receipts and job notifications; prevent abuse; secure the Service; comply with legal obligations; and respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your video, audio, transcript, prompt, or generated-output content to train AI models unless you explicitly opt in.
3. Data sharing
We share data with:
- Stripe — payment processing
- OpenAI — transcript scoring (your transcript content is sent to OpenAI's API; OpenAI's API data usage policy applies)
- PostHog — product analytics and event measurement
- ElevenLabs — voiceover generation when you use the voiceover tool
- Cloudflare R2 — file storage
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Google Analytics — website traffic measurement when enabled
We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose limited information when required by law, to protect the Service and users, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. Cookies
We use a session cookie for authentication and analytics cookies for PostHog and Google Analytics when enabled. No third-party advertising cookies are set.
5. Data retention
Account data is retained until you delete your account or request deletion, subject to legal, security, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, and backup needs. Video, audio, image, generated-output, and transcript data is retained for 90 days after the parent project is deleted, then purged from active systems. Backups may persist for a limited period before rotation. You can request deletion by emailing clipmasterapp@gmail.com.
6. Security
Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our storage provider. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We do not log plaintext credentials.
7. Your rights
You can export your data, delete your account, or request correction of inaccurate data at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to know/access, delete, correct, restrict, object to processing, data portability, withdraw consent, or appeal a privacy decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
8. Children
ClipMaster is not intended for children under 18. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are under 18.
9. International processing
We operate from the United States and may process information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or by updating the date above.
